It was definitely Professor Plum, with the candlestick, in the billiard room. Or wait, maybe it was Miss Scarlet, with the rope, in the dining room. Ahhh I don't know. 

But what I do know is that Clue is now the 5th best selling board game of all time, and it started with a little bit of boredom, a culture obsessed with crime and detective stories, and some solid editing.
